Terms of use
The contract between SetRally and the people who use it: what we do, what you do, and what neither of us can set aside.
Who they apply to
SetRally is online software for running racket-sport leagues, tournaments and sessions: the setrally.com site and the app.setrally.com app. It is provided by SetRally (“we”).
These terms bind SetRally and the organizer — the person who creates an account and runs an organization, whether a club, a group or themselves (“you”). The For players part also speaks to players who sign up online or use the links they receive.
The organizer accepts them by ticking the box when creating their account, or on their first visit to the console after they are published; the accepted version and the date are recorded. They go together with the privacy policy.
The French version prevails. This English version is a translation provided for your convenience.
What SetRally is, and is not
SetRally is a tool. It does not run your events: it doesn’t hold them, doesn’t supervise play, doesn’t check courts or equipment, and is not party to any arrangement between you and your players. The organizer is responsible for their events: rules, safety, insurance, any liability waivers they see fit, and their dealings with their players.
Your commitments as organizer
- Your account. You give accurate information, keep your access to yourself, and are responsible for the people you invite into your console.
- Your players’ information. When you enter or import your players’ names, emails, genders or levels, you guarantee that you obtained them lawfully, for your activity, and told the people concerned. You are responsible for this information; SetRally is your service provider, processing it for you, on your instructions and under the privacy policy. That is also why nothing serves from one club to another.
- Players under 14. If you sign up a player under 14, it is up to you to obtain the consent of the person with parental authority.
- What is public. Players’ names, their teams, the divisions and the results show without signing in on the event page, in the Arena and on the players’ link. You tell your players so; the sign-up form says it too.
- Your own terms. The terms you write for your sign-ups bind you and your players. SetRally doesn’t review them and is not party to them.
- Emails SetRally sends on your behalf — invitations, reminders, receipts, captain links — are for running your events. You don’t use them to advertise or promote anything, including in the words you add to them.
- Your content. The names, descriptions, logos and notices you publish remain yours, and you are responsible for what they say. You allow SetRally to host and display them to run the service.
For players
- Your email is used to follow up on your registration and for the event’s messages — confirmation, availability reply, payment, captain link. Never for advertising, neither by SetRally nor by the club through SetRally.
- Your name, team and results appear on the event’s public pages.
- For a player under 14, a parent or guardian fills in the sign-up.
- The terms the club has you accept, if any, bind you and the club; SetRally is not party to them. About your information, ask the club, or us: see the privacy policy.
Money
Registrations paid online
Online payments go through Stripe and go straight to the club’s Stripe account: SetRally never holds that money. SetRally takes a 1% fee on each online payment, deducted from the club’s payout; the player pays exactly the price the club set. Refunds are decided and made by the club. When the club refunds a payment, SetRally’s fee goes back to it, prorated for a partial refund; Stripe’s own fees stay governed by Stripe’s terms, which the club accepts when opening its account. A registration paid in person does not go through SetRally.
Plans
The free plan has limits. Paid plans are monthly or yearly, and a tournament can be unlocked à la carte; prices are those shown on the pricing page, plus applicable taxes. A subscription renews itself at the end of each period until it is cancelled. You can cancel at any time from billing management; the plan stays active until the end of the period already paid, and amounts paid are not refunded pro rata, unless the law requires it. A price increase is announced at least 30 days before it applies to your renewal.
What is prohibited
Using SetRally for an illegal activity; publishing content that infringes others’ rights or that is hateful, harassing or misleading; sending advertising or unsolicited messages through SetRally; accessing, or trying to access, another organization’s data; getting around security or a plan’s limits; overloading or scraping the service by automated means; reselling the service without an agreement with us; impersonating someone else.
Suspension and closure
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, after notice when possible, and without delay when there is a serious risk: fraud, a security threat, illegal content. You can close your account at any time by writing to us. Barring fraud or a legal obligation, you can export your data before it is deleted.
Availability
We do our best to keep SetRally available, especially during sessions, and the database keeps a 30-day history so an error can be repaired. But we don’t guarantee that the service is always available or free of errors, and it may be interrupted for maintenance.
Should SetRally ever stop operating, we would tell you ahead of time and give you time to export your data before deleting it.
Liability
SetRally is not responsible for how your events are run or for what happens on court, injuries included. For an organizer who is not a consumer, our total liability to them is limited to the amounts they paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to it, and we are not liable for indirect losses, such as lost profits.
These limits have bounds we don’t try to get around. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for bodily or moral injury, for gross or intentional fault, or any liability the law does not allow to be excluded. If you are a consumer, you keep every protection of Québec’s Consumer Protection Act, which these terms do not reduce.
Your data
A club’s data belongs to the club and serves it only. It can export it at any time, on every plan. What we keep, what is public, who it is shared with and your rights are set out in the privacy policy.
Changes
We may change these terms. A significant change is announced at least 30 days before it takes effect, and the new version is presented to you for acceptance in the console. If you refuse it, you can stop using SetRally and close your account; a consumer can also cancel their contract, as the law allows.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Québec and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute falls to the courts of the judicial district of Montréal — unless you are a consumer: you can then bring it before the court where you live. These terms contain no mandatory arbitration clause and no class-action waiver.

SetRally is operated by Badminton À Montréal Inc. (Québec enterprise number 1181602849) under the name SetRally Software. SetRally was born at BAM!, a Montréal badminton league that uses it like any other club: no club, BAM! included, has access to another club’s data.
